Molecular identification, phylogeny and phylogeography of the entomopathogenic nematodes of the genus Heterorhabditis Poinar, 1976: a multigene approach

Manoj Dhakal et al.

Summary: This study analyzed gene sequences of 11 species of the genus Heterorhabditis, confirming the division of the genus into three clades using Bayesian inference, maximum likelihood, and statistical parsimony. The study also revealed synonymization of several species and identified ITS rRNA and COI genes as informative markers for species identification and phylogeographical studies.

Redescription and synonymization of Oscheius citri Tabassum, Shahina, Nasira and Erum, 2016 (Rhabditida, Rhabditidae) from India and its taxonomical consequences

A. Rana et al.

Summary: A population of nematodes belonging to the genus Oscheius was discovered in western Uttar Pradesh, India, showing high similarity to six species previously described from Pakistan. Molecular analysis revealed almost identical DNA sequences between the Indian population and the Pakistani species, supporting their synonym status. Phylogenetic analysis placed Oscheius citri as a sister species to O. chongmingensis and O. rugaoensis from China.
