This study successfully demonstrated a better route to produce an AC-based supercapacitor electrode with comparable values to those reported in the literature.

Tea Residue-Based Activated Carbon: Preparation, Characterization and Adsorption Performance of o-Cresol

Summary: This study introduced a method for preparing activated carbon from tea residue, and investigated the physicochemical properties and adsorption performance of the obtained activated carbon. The optimal activation conditions for the activated carbon samples were found to be 900 degrees C activation temperature, 60 minutes activation time, and a char to KOH mixture ratio of 3:2. Adsorption experiments showed that the activated carbon had a high adsorption capacity for o-cresol and followed a pseudo-second-order adsorption kinetics model. Additionally, the adsorption process was found to be spontaneous and endothermic, with physisorption and chemisorption interactions playing a role.
