Effect of hybrid nanofluid on heat transfer performance of parabolic trough solar collector receiver

Recep Ekiciler et al.

Summary: This study investigates the three-dimensional heat transfer and flow characteristics of different hybrid nanofluids in a parabolic trough solar collector receiver under turbulent flow conditions. Results show that hybrid nanofluids outperform the base fluid in terms of heat transfer and flow features, with heat transfer enhancement correlated to Reynolds number and nanoparticle volume fraction. Among the tested nanofluids, Ag-MgO/Syltherm 800 with 4.0% nanoparticle volume fraction is identified as the most efficient working fluid for the PTC receiver.

Entropy analysis of Powell-Eyring hybrid nanofluid including effect of linear thermal radiation and viscous dissipation

Asim Aziz et al.

Summary: Hybrid nanofluids have been proven to exhibit greater heat transfer capabilities compared to traditional nanofluids, as shown in this study on Powell-Eyring hybrid nanofluids. The results indicate that Powell-Eyring hybrid nanofluids are better thermal conductors, with heat transfer rate at the boundary decreasing with smaller shape factor parameter values, and overall entropy of the system increasing with higher Reynolds and Brinkman numbers.

Single phase based study of Ag-Cu/EO Williamson hybrid nanofluid flow over a stretching surface with shape factor

Wasim Jamshed et al.

Summary: Hybrid nanofluids, which consist of two types of nanoparticles suspended in a base fluid, have been studied for their flow and heat transport characteristics on a slippery surface. The analysis includes factors such as nanoparticle shapes, porous medium, variable thermal conductivity, and thermal radiation. The research findings show that the heat transfer rate of Williamson hybrid nanofluids gradually increases compared to conventional nanofluids, with different nanoparticle shapes resulting in varying temperature distributions.

Summary: This study investigates the Casson nanofluid flow with inclined magnetohydrodynamics, viscous dissipation, joule heating, thermal radiation, and particle shape factor effects over a moving flat horizontal surface with entropy analysis. The Tiwari and Das model is utilized with ethylene glycol as a base fluid to study the impact of nanoparticles volume fraction on heat transfer enhancement compared to the Buongiorno model. The surface drag coefficient and Nusselt number behavior for different sundry parameters are examined, revealing that higher Reynolds and Brinkman numbers increase the overall entropy of the system.

Summary: The research examines the bioconvection of nanofluid flow through an expanding sheet containing motile microorganisms, considering convective and slip boundary conditions. The study shows that the increasing magnetic field reduces Nusselt number and velocity near the stretch sheet, while higher Peclet numbers result in decreasing density of motile microorganisms.
