PD-1 inhibition in patient derived tissue cultures of human gastric and gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma

Marlon Husstegge et al.

Summary: The use of standardized patient-derived tissue culture (PDTC) model allowed for investigating the response of gastric and esophagogastric junction cancers to PD-1 inhibition and T-lymphocyte activator. Individual responses to PD-1 inhibition were found ex vivo, with enhanced antitumoral effects observed when combined with chemotherapy or T-lymphocyte activation. These findings support the potential of PDTC for investigating immunotherapy in these types of cancers.
