Quantification of Carpaine and Antioxidant Properties of Extracts from Carica Papaya Plant Leaves and Stalks

Jing Ying Yap et al.

Summary: The significant increase in dengue cases globally has led to the exploration of alternative treatments, with papaya leaves extract (PLE) being used successfully due to its carpaine content that raises platelet count. Studies have shown that young papaya leaves contain significantly higher levels of carpaine compared to old leaves and stalks, and blending treatment can further enhance carpaine extraction.
