Effective stabilization of atomic hydrogen by Pd nanoparticles for rapid hexavalent chromium reduction and synchronous bisphenol A oxidation during the photoelectrocatalytic process

Shanpeng Li et al.

Summary: A novel strategy was designed to effectively stabilize atomic hydrogen (H*) to enhance its utility, leading to rapid reduction of heavy metals and synchronous oxidation of refractory organics. The combination of Pd nanoparticles on defective MoS2 of TiO2 nanowire arrays improved H* stability and catalytic performance, significantly increasing the yield of hydroxyl radical ((OH)-O-center dot) for enhanced redox reactions.

Facile fabrication of molybdenum compounds (Mo2C, MoP and MoS2) nanoclusters supported on N-doped reduced graphene oxide for highly efficient hydrogen evolution reaction over broad pH range

Yuelong Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, defect-rich nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide (RGO) with molybdenum (Mo)-based compound loading was designed using a two-step method, showing excellent and durable electrocatalytic performance over a broad pH range. The presence of defects was confirmed through transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) results, while theoretical analysis demonstrated an efficient synergetic effect between RGO and Mo-based compounds on catalytic activity. This work provides insights for the development of new catalysts for water splitting to produce hydrogen.
