blocks_3d: software for general 3d conformal blocks

Rajeev S. Erramilli et al.

Summary: The software blocks_3d is introduced for computing four-point conformal blocks in 3d CFTs, utilizing Zamolodchikov-like recursion relations for numerical computations. Performance benchmarks are provided for correlators with scalars, fermions, and stress tensors. As an example application, bootstrap bounds on four-point functions of fermions are recomputed to investigate a previously observed jump, concluding that the fake primary effect cannot fully explain it and suggesting further study on the possible existence of a dead-end CFT near the jump.

Searching for gauge theories with the conformal bootstrap

Zhijin Li et al.

Summary: The study provides preliminary evidence that a class of gauged fermionic CFTs can potentially be solved with the conformal bootstrap and satisfy bootstrap bounds. The research demonstrates that the critical O(N) vector models in 3D satisfy the bootstrap bounds and are associated with kinks approaching = 1/2 at large N. Additionally, the bootstrap bounds also include another infinite family of kinks TD, which approach solutions containing free fermion bilinears at = D - 1 as N becomes large.

Stiefel Liquids: Possible Non-Lagrangian Quantum Criticality from Intertwined Orders

Liujun Zou et al.

Summary: In this study, a new type of quantum liquids called Stiefel liquids was proposed, exhibiting large emergent symmetries, a cascade structure, and nontrivial quantum anomalies. It was argued that Stiefel liquids with N > 6 are non-Lagrangian and can be realized in frustrated quantum spin systems through the intertwinement between noncoplanar magnetic orders and valence-bond-solid orders. This challenges traditional approaches in determining the emergence of non-Lagrangian states from specific UV systems based on the matching of quantum anomalies with constraints from Lieb-Schultz-Mattis theorems.

Non-Wilson-Fisher kinks of O(N) numerical bootstrap: From the deconfined phase transition to a putative new family of CFTs

Yin-Chen He et al.

Summary: The paper explores the characteristics of the O(N) Wilson-Fisher (WF) CFT kinks and non-WF kinks on the numerical bounds derived from bootstrapping O(N) vector four point function. Non-WF kinks exist in arbitrary dimensions only for N > N-c(d) in a given dimension d. Investigating specific cases of these non-WF kinks reveals intriguing physics insights.

Bootstrapping Heisenberg magnets and their cubic instability

Shai M. Chester et al.

Summary: In this study, the critical O(3) model was investigated using numerical conformal bootstrap, with the use of a cutting-surface algorithm to efficiently map out the space of allowed conformal field theory data. By calculating the scaling dimensions of the main O(3) singlet s, vector phi, and rank-2 symmetric tensor t, it was found that the system described by the critical O(3) model is unstable to cubic anisotropy, as evidenced by introducing a new tip-finding algorithm to compute an upper bound on the leading rank-4 symmetric tensor t(4).

Lattice Abelian-Higgs model with noncompact gauge fields

Claudio Bonati et al.

Summary: The study investigates a noncompact lattice formulation of three-dimensional electrodynamics with N-component complex scalar fields, showing a phase diagram with three distinct phases: Coulomb phase, Higgs phase, and molecular phase separated by transition lines meeting at a multicritical point. The transitions are described by various continuum field theories with explicit or implicit gauge fields, and the numerical results are consistent with renormalization-group predictions for consecutive Coulomb-to-Higgs transitions.
