Summary: An alternative implementation for numerically modeling atomic Bose-Einstein condensate in a toroidal potential is proposed. The study presents an accurate and efficient scheme for evaluating matrix elements and calculating the time evolution of the matter wave field, analyzing the stability and accuracy of the method for equilibrium and nonequilibrium solutions in a ring-shaped trap with an additional barrier potential.

Persistent currents in toroidal dipolar supersolids

Summary: This study investigates the rotational properties of a dipolar Bose-Einstein condensate trapped in a toroidal geometry and discovers distinct behaviors of the condensate in superfluid and supersolid phases. The toroidal dipolar condensate can support a supersolid persistent current, and superfluid condensates may enter the supersolid phase when angular momentum is introduced. The rotating toroidal supersolid exhibits hysteretic behavior depending on the superfluid fraction of the condensate.
