Miniaturized Needle Array-Mediated Drug Delivery Accelerates Wound Healing

Mohamadmahdi Samandari et al.

Summary: Insufficient vascularization is a major obstacle to normal wound healing, but delivery of angiogenic factors like VEGF can modestly improve healing. Specialty delivery systems, such as MNAs and LJIs, play a crucial role in controlling drug distribution and enhancing wound healing. The effectiveness of these delivery systems has been confirmed both in vitro and in vivo, showing enhanced angiogenesis and accelerated wound healing.

Controlling cellular organization in bioprinting through designed 3D microcompartmentalization

Mohamadmahdi Samandari et al.

Summary: This work presents a rapid and cost-effective approach for continuous printing of multicompartmental hydrogel fibers with internal 3D microfilaments to control cellular orientation. By controlling flow parameters, the organization of microtopographies within the fibers can be customized to direct cellular alignment, facilitating cell proliferation and differentiation towards mature biofabricated constructs.
