Climate Change Projection in the Twenty-First Century Simulated by NIMS-KMA CMIP6 Model Based on New GHGs Concentration Pathways

Hyun Min Sung et al.

Summary: The National Institute of Meteorological Sciences-Korea Meteorological Administration has participated in the CMIP and provided long-term simulations using coupled climate models. Analysis of future projections shows increasing global temperature, precipitation, and decreasing sea ice extent in the Arctic and Antarctic regions. The simulations are released to support the establishment of national adaptation plans for climate change in South Korea.

Future Changes in the Global and Regional Sea Level Rise and Sea Surface Temperature Based on CMIP6 Models

Hyun Min Sung et al.

Summary: This study estimates regional sea level rise and sea surface temperature changes around the Korean peninsula, showing that the regional changes are similar to global trends but with distinct discrepancies in sea surface temperature warming, which are related to local ocean current changes.

Long-term Regional Dynamic Sea Level Changes from CMIP6 Projections

Bruno Ferrero et al.

Summary: Anthropogenic climate forcing is projected to cause global mean sea level rise in the 21st century, with regional variations across ocean basins influenced by natural internal climate variability. Analysis using single and multimodel ensembles from the CMIP6 archive under different emission scenarios shows that regions with higher signal-to-noise ratios are likely to experience sea level changes earlier, highlighting the importance of public policies towards lower emission scenarios.

Climate model projections from the Scenario Model Intercomparison Project (ScenarioMIP) of CMIP6

Claudia Tebaldi et al.

Summary: The Scenario Model Intercomparison Project (ScenarioMIP) presents a range of outcomes regarding global climate projections, focusing on geophysical analysis. By comparing CMIP6 projections with CMIP5 results, it is found that there are more variations in future temperature changes than previously thought.
