The statistical observation localized equivalent-weights particle filter in a simple nonlinear model

Yuxin Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper presents an improved approach called statistical observation localized EWPF (LEWPF-Sobs) that uses historical data to calculate statistical observations and draws on the localization scheme of the localized PF to construct the filter. Experimental results show that LEWPF-Sobs performs better than traditional algorithms when using sparse observations.

Artificial Intelligence-Based Techniques for Rainfall Estimation Integrating Multisource Precipitation Datasets

Raihan Sayeed Khan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the use of multiple Artificial Intelligence techniques to improve precipitation estimates in the Upper Blue Nile Basin. By merging various satellite and atmospheric reanalysis datasets, the AI methods generated more accurate precipitation estimates, significantly reducing error statistics. The proposed methods show great potential for predicting precipitation in complex terrain regions.

Data Assimilation of Satellite-Based Soil Moisture into a Distributed Hydrological Model for Streamflow Predictions

Navid Jadidoleslam et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that assimilating satellite-based soil moisture in real-time streamflow predictions can reduce peak error, with the EnKF method being particularly effective. Additionally, including a time-dependent error variance model can enhance overall streamflow prediction performance.
