Correlation Between Relative Nasopharyngeal Virus RNA Load and Lymphocyte Count Disease Severity in Patients with COVID-19

Yang Liu et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the correlation between nasopharyngeal viral load and lymphocyte count disease severity in patients with COVID-19 caused by the new coronavirus. Significant differences were found in various indicators between the mild group and the severe group. The results suggest that higher SARS-CoV-2 RNA load is associated with lower lymphocyte count, increased organ damage, and prolonged time for nucleic acid test to turn negative.

Clinical Evaluation of BD Veritor SARS-CoV-2 Point-of-Care Test Performance Compared to PCR-Based Testing and versus the Sofia 2 SARS Antigen Point-of-Care Test

Stephen Young et al.

Summary: The BD Veritor System for Rapid Detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigen showed varied performance in different DSO ranges compared to PCR testing, with PPA values below 100%. However, Veritor demonstrated high agreement with Sofia 2 in detecting SARS-CoV-2.
