A systematic review of factors influencing participation in two types of malaria prevention intervention in Southeast Asia

Breagh Cheng et al.

Summary: As countries in Southeast Asia accelerate efforts against malaria transmission, it is crucial to assess knowledge and attitudes of local populations towards malaria prevention activities. Factors influencing uptake of insecticide-treated bed-nets and mass drug administration include knowledge of malaria, attitudes towards interventions, indirect costs, incentives, and group decision-making. Ongoing community engagement efforts, implementation research, and the role of health educators are essential for effective malaria control strategies in the region.
