An automated louver with innovative parametrically-angled reflective slats: Prototyping and validation via using parametric control in Grasshopper along with Arduino board

Ahmad Eltaweel et al.

Summary: The energy-saving potential of lighting in office buildings is significant, with an advanced daylighting system capable of delivering more uniform and steady illumination. This paper presents a prototype of an automated louver with parametrically-angled reflective slats, aimed at reflecting sunlight to evenly distributed target positions on a ceiling. The validation of the prototype verifies the principle and aim of the proposed design, demonstrating a more uniform and distributed daylight illumination.
