Summary: Crumb rubber has been used to enhance the impact and toughness of concrete, and the flexibility of rubber aggregates could be the key to solving failure due to fatigue. Although there may be a marginal reduction in mechanical properties, appropriate treatment of crumb rubber can overcome this issue. The use of crumb rubber concrete can have a positive impact on the environment by solving disposal problems and conserving natural aggregates.
