Effects of silica aerogel inclusion on the stability of heat generation and heat-dependent electrical characteristics of cementitious composites with CNT

Daeik Jang et al.

Summary: The study showed that the addition of silica aerogel improved the stability of heat generation and enhanced the electrical properties of cementitious composites with carbon nanotube. The improvement was attributed to the reduction of CNT particle redistribution by the incorporated silica aerogel during the heating process.

Influence of the aerogel/expanded perlite composite as thermal insulation aggregate on the cement-based materials: Preparation, property, and microstructure

Guanhua Jia et al.

Summary: The Aerogel/expanded perlite composite (AEP) offers a cost-effective solution for incorporating aerogel into building materials. The AEP cement-based composites (AEPC) were prepared and studied for their workability, physical and mechanical properties, and microstructure. The addition of AEP improved the fresh mixture workability of AEPC, although certain modifications such as KH550 and HPMC had inhibitory effects on the hydration process of cement-based materials. AEPC exhibited decreased thermal conductivity compared to expanded perlite cement-based composites due to the stable presence of aerogel.
