Interband transition in plasmonic titanium nitride and its contribution towards ZnO based pyro-phototronic application

Santanu Podder et al.

Summary: The study utilizes interband transition generated charge carriers in plasmonic TiN to fabricate a highly responsive UV photodetector, combining with the excitonic-pyroelectric effect of the non-centrosymmetric wurtzite ZnO crystal. The device demonstrates a maximum photoresponsivity of 50 mA/W and an ultrafast response time of 21 μs.

Pyro-phototronic application in the Au/ZnO interface for the fabrication of a highly responsive ultrafast UV photodetector

Santanu Podder et al.

Summary: This study presents the fabrication of a highly responsive ultrafast UV photodetector utilizing combined photovoltaic and photo-induced pyroelectric effect. The device architecture includes a layered configuration with gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) and zinc oxide (ZnO) in the photoactive layer, leading to enhanced photocurrent generation in the UV region. The fabricated device demonstrates impressive photoresponsivity, detectivity, and ultrafast response time, making it a promising option for UV detection applications.

Direct growth of graphene films without catalyst on flexible glass substrates by PECVD*

Rui-Xia Miao et al.

Summary: A hydrogen-plasma-etching-based plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) synthesis route is developed for preparing graphene films on flexible glass without the need for a metal catalyst. By optimizing experimental parameters, the properties of the prepared graphene films can be modulated to achieve transparency, good electrical conductivity, and better macroscopic uniformity. This research shows that direct growth of graphene film without any metal catalyst on flexible glass can be a promising candidate for applications in flexible transparent optoelectronics.

An all metal nitride nanostructure configuration: Study and exploitation in efficient photo-detection

Jyotisman Bora et al.

Summary: Exploring the extraction of charge carriers generated from the interband transitions in plasmonic titanium nitride (TiNx) in an all metal nitride based device geometry can achieve efficient photodetection. The device shows strong absorption peaks in both UV and visible regions, with substantial photoresponsivity and detectivity under UV illumination. The tunability of plasmon resonance band in plasmonic TiNx allows for considerable photoresponse in NIR and UV regions, making it a promising candidate for real-world applications.
