Fully Inorganic CsSnI3-Based Solar Cells with >6% Efficiency and Enhanced Stability Enabled by Mixed Electron Transport Layer

Shaoyang Ma et al.

Summary: By incorporating a mixed electron transport layer (ETL) composed of ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) and [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) into inverted CsSnI3 perovskite solar cells (PSCs), the performance of the cells can be improved. The mixed ZnO-PCBM ETL-based PSC showed higher PCE and better stability compared to plain ETL-based PSCs.

Efficient Passivation Strategy on Sn Related Defects for High Performance All-Inorganic CsSnI3 Perovskite Solar Cells

Bo Li et al.

Summary: This study utilized a thioamides passivation strategy to modulate defect state density at surfaces and grain boundaries in CsSnI3 perovskites, achieving high-performance all-inorganic CsSnI3 PSCs. Surface passivation reduced deep level trap state defect density originating from Sn2+ ion and Sn2+ oxidation, restraining nonradiative recombination and elongating carrier lifetime.

Insights on Desired Fabrication Factors from Modeling Sandwich and Quasi-Interdigitated Back-Contact Perovskite Solar Cells

Erik O. Shalenov et al.

Summary: Numerical simulation was used to study optical and electrical properties of conventional sandwich and quasi-interdigitated back-contact (QIBC) perovskite solar cells, revealing differences in working principle and device properties. Comparisons of carrier recombination mechanisms and materials selection indicated that QIBC PSCs could achieve over 25% power conversion efficiency with careful optimization.

Localized Electron Density Engineering for Stabilized B-γ CsSnI3-Based Perovskite Solar Cells with Efficiencies >10%

Tao Ye et al.

Summary: The undesirable oxidation in CsSnI3 is restricted by engineering the localized electron density with phthalimide (PTM) additive, resulting in reduced defect density and relatively grain-ordered perovskite film. Champion efficiencies are obtained for modified rigid and flexible B-gamma CsSnI3-based PSCs, and the encapsulated devices exhibit high stability under various conditions.

Determination of the embedded electronic states at nanoscale interface via surface-sensitive photoemission spectroscopy

Hui-Qiong Wang et al.

Summary: This article reviews various methods for studying buried interface states, including hard X-ray photoemission spectroscopy, resonant soft X-ray angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, and thickness-dependent photoemission spectroscopy. A quantitative modeling method is introduced to extract the buried interface states based on film thickness-dependent photoemission spectra.
