Identification of Garlic virus A infecting Allium sativum L. through next generation sequencing technology

Malyaj R. Prajapati et al.

Summary: This study presents the first comprehensive view of the complete genome sequence of GarV-A infecting Indian garlic variety Yamuna Safed-3, showing higher sequence identity to Chinese isolates. Analysis revealed that the Indian GarV-A isolate underwent homologous recombination with genetic material from Chinese and Russian isolates, indicating the need for further research on the spread of this recombinant virus.
