Enzymatic degradation of sulphonated azo dye using purified azoreductase from facultativeKlebsiella pneumoniae

Shweta Dixit et al.

Summary: The heterologously expressed and purified azoreductase enzyme from facultative Klebsiella pneumoniae showed maximum activity at 40 degrees C and pH 8.0, with some activity retained even at 80 degrees C. Kinetic parameters and dye degradation efficiency of the enzyme were also studied, showing promising results for the decolorization of azo dyes.

Assessment of biodecolorization potentials of biofilm forming bacteria from two different genera for Mordant Black 11 dye

Uruj Tahir et al.

Summary: This study explored the potential of indigenous biofilm forming Staphylococcus and Bacillus species for decolorizing and transforming Mordant Black 11 dye in contaminated environmental compartments. The bacterial strains showed efficient decolorization capabilities even under variable environmental parameters. Bacillus subtilis MB378 demonstrated the highest potential for dye decolorization, while Staphylococcus sp. MB377 showed promising results at acidic pH conditions, highlighting the effective utilization of these strains for treating dye-containing effluents.
