Mechanistic insights into effect of feeding rate on soot formation during rapid pyrolysis of biomass model components in a drop-tube furnace at high temperature

Changya Deng et al.

Summary: This study found that feeding rate has a significant impact on soot formation during rapid pyrolysis, with high feeding rates increasing total soot yield and particle size, and promoting the formation of incipient soot to large mature soot. Additionally, soot growth is limited by the availability of soot-forming carbonaceous materials.

Effect of phosphorus (P) on the structure and reactivity of biochars produced from the pyrolysis of acid-washed biomass loaded with P of various forms

Xujun Chen et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of phosphorus on the char structure and reactivity of biomass during fast pyrolysis. Experimental results show that the presence of phosphorus significantly increases char yield and C/H content, while decreasing O content. The form and content of phosphorus play an important role in the evolution of char structure and reactivity.

Catalytic pyrolysis of polyethylene terephthalate over zeolite catalyst: Characteristics of coke and the products

Chao Li et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that catalytic pyrolysis in the presence of zeolite can effectively convert PET waste into solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels, while adjusting the properties and compositions of the products. Zeolite influences the yields of gases and light hydrocarbons by affecting secondary and primary reactions in the process.
