Magnetite nanoparticles: Synthesis methods-A comparative review

Adelina-Gabriela Niculescu et al.

Summary: Iron oxide-based nanoparticles, especially magnetite, have attracted significant scientific interest due to their availability, versatility, biocompatibility, biodegradability, and unique magnetic properties. The behavior of magnetite at the nano-scale is directly related to its shape, size, and surface chemistry, requiring accurate control over the synthesis process. Microfluidic methods have emerged as a promising technology for achieving better control over morphology, size, and size distribution, overcoming limitations of conventional bulk methods.
