A comparative authentication study of fresh fruit and vegetable juices using whole juice and sugar-specific stable isotopes

Hao Wu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the adulteration of NFC juice by analyzing the carbon and oxygen stable isotope ratios of different juice components. The results indicate that fruit pulp can qualitatively and quantitatively indicate the presence of added sugars, and stable isotope technology is a useful tool for detecting adulteration in-market NFC juice.

Chemometric Discrimination of the Geographical Origin of Three Greek Cultivars of Olive Oils by Stable Isotope Ratio Analysis

Maria Tarapoulouzi et al.

Summary: The use of alpha stable isotope ratio mass spectrometer allowed for geographical discrimination of olive oil samples based on stable isotope ratios. The model achieved high levels of correct recognition and prediction in both training and test samples, with a strong emphasis on the importance of delta O-18 and delta H-2 as markers for olive oil discrimination. The authenticity of olive oil based on different olive varieties can be determined using this technique.

Chemical Analysis Combined with Multivariate Statistical Methods to Determine the Geographical Origin of Milk from Four Regions in China

Ruting Zhao et al.

Summary: The research explored the effectiveness of different technologies in distinguishing the origin of milk from different geographical distances, and found that the combination of fatty acid and fatty acid-binding isotopes analysis was more advantageous in inter-provincial samples. Additionally, the discriminant distance was successfully reduced to 0.7 km.

Determining the geographical origin of milk by multivariate analysis based on stable isotope ratios, elements and fatty acids

Siyan Xu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to construct a reliable discrimination model for determining milk geographical origin by analyzing stable isotope ratios, elements, and fatty acids in milk samples from Australia, New Zealand, and Austria. The results showed that stable isotope ratios in Australian milk samples were the highest, followed by those from New Zealand and Austria. A multivariate model with good robustness and predictive ability for authenticating milk origin was successfully constructed based on these findings.
