The Practicability of the Xpert HCV Viral Load Fingerstick Point-of-Care Assay in Primary Care Settings

Summary: Linkage to care is a challenge in eliminating HCV, and the two-step pathway for testing results in patient loss. The Xpert HCV viral load point-of-care assay showed promising practicability for immediate diagnosis in primary care settings. However, further evaluation is needed for interpretability and diagnostic performance before recommending its use in HCV screening.
