Acetic acid-mediated cellulose-based carbons: Influence of activation conditions on textural features and carbon dioxide uptakes

Urooj Kamran et al.

Summary: In this study, a simple methodology was developed to produce highly porous carbons with optimized adsorption features for carbon dioxide. By combining hydrothermal method with chemical activation, the prepared adsorbent exhibited high specific surface area, abundant microporosity, and efficient CO2 adsorption uptake. The presence of ultra-micropores, high surface area, and nitrogen content contributed to the excellent CO2 adsorption performance of the optimized adsorbent.
