SWARA/WASPAS methods for a marine current energy plant location selection problem

G. Nilay Yucenur et al.

Summary: The increasing energy demand worldwide has led to the use of renewable energy sources through the kinetic energy transformation of nature's building blocks such as wind, solar, hydrogen, and water. This trend has also increased technology, creativity, research, development, and applicability. A multi-criteria decision model is proposed for the location selection problem of Turkey's first marine current energy production plant, with criteria weighted using the SWARA method and alternatives ranked by the WASPAS method. This study is the first to introduce the location selection problem for a marine current energy plant to the literature with a combined application method.

Optimal sizing and technology selection of hybrid energy storage system with novel dispatching power for wind power integration

Marzieh Khosravi et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a power management method utilizing a hybrid energy storage system to address the uncertainty of wind power integration into the grid. By using discrete wavelet transform and clustering methods, combined with mixed-integer linear programming and maximizing net present value, the optimal size and type of energy storage systems are determined. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through real data validation at a scaled-down wind farm.
