An Advanced Machine Learning Based Energy Management of Renewable Microgrids Considering Hybrid Electric Vehicles' Charging Demand

Tianze Lan et al.

Summary: Renewable microgrids offer new solutions for improved security, reliability, and power quality in power systems by utilizing various renewable sources like solar panels and wind units. This paper proposes a machine learning approach for energy management in renewable microgrids, with a focus on modeling and estimating charging demand of hybrid electric vehicles. The results show a significant reduction in total operation cost of the microgrid with intelligent charging, compared to a coordinated scheme, along with a very low mean absolute percentage error in predicting total charging demand of HEVs.

Financial and economic feasibility of bio-digesters for rural residential demand-side management and sustainable development

Edson L. Meyer et al.

Summary: This paper examines the financial and economic feasibility of biogas production to meet energy demands at a household or village scale. By exploring the cost and benefits of biogas digesters, it was found that they have the potential to provide cooking energy and save on electricity demand. Through specific data analysis, it was determined that the investment payback period for biogas digesters is approximately 22 months.

A Demand-Supply Matching-Based Approach for Mapping Renewable Resources Towards 100% Renewable Grids in 2050

Loiy Al-Ghussain et al.

Summary: This study presents a regional RE assessment approach focusing on the mismatch of supply and demand, optimizing PV and wind systems through resource mapping to maximize renewable energy fraction. The results demonstrate the importance of resource mapping based on energy-demand matching rather than a quantitative assessment of anchorage sites.
