Comparison of Phenolic Compounds in Olive Leaves by Different Drying and Storage Methods

Shiling Feng et al.

Summary: In this study, a simple and new method for the quick determination of oleuropein and hydroxytyrosol in olive leaves by HPLC was established. The method simplified the elution procedure and shortened the time, while also providing a better drying and preservation method for olive leaves.

Development and validation of anHPLC-DADmethod for determination of oleuropein and other bioactive compounds in olive leaf by-products

Esther M. Martinez-Navarro et al.

Summary: A water-based microwave extraction method was developed to obtain aqueous extract from olive leaves, and a HPLC-DAD method was validated for determining the oleuropein content. UV-visible spectrophotometry can also be useful in determining the content of oleuropein and other bioactive compounds in leaf aqueous extracts onsite.
