Development of a Real-Time Quantitative PCR Assay for Detection of Porcine Circovirus Type 2e

Xiaohui Wen et al.

Summary: A TaqMan-based RT-qPCR method was developed for efficient detection of PCV2e in clinical samples. The established PCR method can specifically identify PCV2e without cross-reacting with other PCV genotypes, PRV, and PPV.

Development of CRISPR-CAS9 based RNA drugs against Eimeria tenella infection

Muhammad Mohsin et al.

Summary: The results of the study suggest that using sgRNA and Cas9 RNA against Eimeria tenella in chickens resulted in lower lesion scores and oocyst scores (P < 0.05) in experimental groups compared to control groups. The findings and concepts presented in this research could lead to the discovery of novel nucleic acid therapeutic drugs for Eimeriasis and other parasitic infections, providing insights into the development of species-specific anti-parasitic agents.

Probiotics as therapeutic, antioxidant and immunomodulatory agents against poultry coccidiosis

Muhammad Mohsin et al.

Summary: Avian coccidiosis, caused by genus Eimeria, is a significant parasitic disease of birds with estimated annual global economic losses of up to $3 billion. Despite challenges in controlling the disease, probiotics have shown promising effects against coccidiosis, reducing losses in the poultry industry worldwide by 70-80%.
