Novel nanoformulation of disulfiram with bacterially synthesized copper oxide nanoparticles for augmenting anticancer activity: an in vitro study

Summary: A novel nanocomplex of DS-CuO NPs was prepared, showing high stability and potent selective anticancer activity against human breast, lung, and liver cancer cells with low inhibitory concentration. This nanocomplex exhibited better anticancer effect and cellular uptake, as well as prooxidant effect-mediated apoptosis and anti-metastatic potential. These findings suggest that the novel nanocomplex may improve the therapeutic index of the conventional DS-Cu complex and warrant further investigation for future clinical applications.
