The rheological, mechanical and heavy metal leaching properties of cemented paste backfill under the influence of anionic polyacrylamide

Qiusong Chen et al.

Summary: This study investigated the influences of APAM on CPB properties, finding that APAM presence can improve the rheological properties of CPB slurry to a certain extent while affecting its mechanical properties and microstructure, as well as impacting leaching performance. Overall, these findings hold promise for safe production and environmental protection in the mining industry.

Immobilization and leaching characteristics of fluoride from phosphogypsum-based cemented paste backfill

Qiu-song Chen et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the feasibility of using cemented paste backfill for the remediation of phosphogypsum and examined fluorine immobilization mechanisms. Through physico-chemical analyses, it was discovered that calcium silicate hydrate gel is associated with fluorine retention. However, further modifications are needed for the simulation to be used as a predictive tool for phosphogypsum management options.

Utilization of modified copper slag activated by Na2SO4 and CaO for unclassified lead/zinc mine tailings based cemented paste backfill

Qiusong Chen et al.

Summary: The study found that sodium sulfate was more effective in improving mechanical performance, promoting the formation of C-S-H gel and improving pore distribution, but also led to the deposition of chloride compounds, which could affect mechanical properties.

Effects of temperatures and pH values on rheological properties of cemented paste backfill

Zhang Qin-li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the influence mechanisms associated with temperatures and pH values on cemented paste backfill (CPB) systems. The results showed that temperatures had significant effects on the rheological properties of CPB, while the effects of pH values were relatively unapparent. Higher temperatures and non-neutral pH conditions were found to increase shear stress and apparent viscosity in the CPB samples.
