Combustion characteristics of biomass fuel briquettes from onion peels and tamarind shells

Sampathkumar Velusamy et al.

Summary: Increased global demand for fossil fuels has led to wealth creation but also exacerbated the negative impacts of greenhouse gas emissions on climate change and public health. By converting biomass wastes into energy-efficient briquettes, substantial environmental and socio-economic benefits can be achieved.

Combustion characteristics of briquette fuels from sorghum panicle-pearl millets using cassava starch binder

Sampathkumar Velusamy et al.

Summary: Utilizing sorghum panicles and pearl millet as raw materials, biofuel briquettes were produced using hydraulic compression method. Compared with pongamia-tamarind shell fuel, sorghum panicle-pearl millet briquettes have better fuel properties with higher calorific value, despite the absence of nitrogen and hydrogen content.

Preparation and characterization of biomass briquettes made from banana peels, sugarcane bagasse, coconut shells and rattan waste

Bill Vaneck Bot et al.

Summary: The study prepared biofuel briquettes from banana peels, rattan waste, coconut shells, and sugarcane bagasse using a conventional method. Proximate analysis showed differences in properties among the residues, with banana peels and sugarcane bagasse having higher losses, while bulk density and calorific values varied.
