Water allocation using game theory under climate change impact (case study: Zarinehrood)

Hasti Hemati et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the impact of climate change on water allocation, and effectively achieves rational water distribution through methods such as bargaining games and the Nash bargaining solution. The research results show that climate change has led to an overall increase in temperature and precipitation in the basin, and the AHP method performs better than the symmetric method in water allocation.

Evaluating water resources management scenarios considering the hierarchical structure of decision-makers and ecosystem services-based criteria

Massoud Behboudian et al.

Summary: This paper presents a new methodology for evaluating water resources management scenarios, considering various aspects of hydrological ecosystem services. The temporal variations in supplied water and agricultural drought management policies are assessed, along with ecological conditions as a criterion. A game theory-based hierarchical evidential reasoning technique is used for prioritizing and selecting the best water resources management scenario.

Optimizing spatial layout of afforestation to realize the maximum benefit of water resources in arid regions: A case study of Alxa, China

Xiaoyu Zhang et al.

Summary: Water shortage, ecological protection, and economic development are long-standing challenges faced by arid regions. Scientific afforestation can achieve the maximum benefit of water resources, but how to plan afforestation to meet different objectives is crucial. This study proposes a method to optimize the spatial layout of afforestation, with a case study in Alxa, China, showing how this method can achieve a win-win situation for ecology and economy in arid regions.

Optimal allocation of regional water resources based on multi-objective dynamic equilibrium strategy

Jianghong Feng

Summary: The study proposed a multi-objective dynamic programming optimal water resources allocation model to address the challenges in water resources allocation, aiming to simultaneously consider economic, social, and environmental benefits. The model showed practicality and rationality in a case study, demonstrating potential for wider application in developing countries/regions with parameter modifications.
