GIS-based multi-criteria evaluation for olive mill wastewater disposal site selection

Summary: The study utilized criteria for olive mill wastewater disposal sites established in Greece, Turkey, and China to select the best location in Tunisia. Geographic information system (GIS) and fuzzy set method were used for multi-criteria analysis, while analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used to assign weights to selected criteria. The final decision on suitable disposal sites was based on the strictest solid waste control regulations, taking into consideration environmental and socio-economic effects.

PlanetScope and Sentinel-2 showed similar performance in explaining variations in turbidity and Secchi Disk data, while Landsat-8 performed lower. However, Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2 explained more variation in chlorophyll a compared to PlanetScope.

Using Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, and Planet Imagery to Map Crop Type of Smallholder Farms

Summary: This study demonstrates the potential of high-resolution imagery such as Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, and PlanetScope in accurately mapping crop types in smallholder farming systems in India. The integration of all three sensors in a trained SVM model led to the highest classification accuracy, with the inclusion of Planet data being particularly beneficial for classifying crop types in the smallest farms.
