Folic acid as a protective agent in snap bean plants under water deficit conditions

M. F. M. Ibrahim et al.

Summary: The study revealed that folic acid has a promoting effect on the growth and yield of snap beans under drought stress, especially under deficit irrigation. Deficit irrigation significantly reduced plant growth and leaf water content, but increased the levels of certain antioxidant enzymes and osmolytes. Foliar application of folic acid significantly improved water use efficiency and enhanced plant growth and yield.

Impact of deficit irrigation strategies on winter wheat in semi-arid climate of sindh

Shamim Ara Memon et al.

Summary: The study found that the tillering stage is the most sensitive and critical stage for wheat crop growth, and proper water management is crucial for increasing yield and water use efficiency. In addition, a 50% water deficit can be an effective irrigation strategy to improve WUE with minimal yield reduction, particularly under semi-arid climatic conditions.

Foliar exposure of zinc oxide nanoparticles improved the growth of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and decreased cadmium concentration in grains under simultaneous Cd and water deficient stress

Muhammad Adrees et al.

Summary: The study showed that ZnO NPs can promote the growth of wheat, with the best results seen at 100 mg/L under normal moisture conditions. In grains, the Cd concentrations decreased by 26%, 81%, and 87% when using 25, 50, and 100 mg/L NPs, respectively, under normal moisture conditions, and decreased by 35%, 66%, and 81% under water deficit conditions.
