Effect of potassium solubilizing bacteria (Bacillus cereus) on growth and yield of potato

Ahmed M. Ali et al.

Summary: Potassium solubilizing bacteria significantly enhance the growth and yield of potato plants, as well as increase the availability of potassium in the soil. The application of PSB also results in higher uptake of N, P, and K by potato plants, leading to increased tuber yield.

Comparing measures for determination of phosphorus saturation as a method to estimate dissolved P in soil solution

Karin Blomback et al.

Summary: This study compared four different indices for soil phosphorus saturation (DPS) in predicting the release of dissolved P into soil solution. The PSI index combined with either P-AL or P-O1s provided the best predictions for both P-caCl2 and P-w. Adding additional explanatory variables did not significantly improve the regression models. Multiple measures of P saturation provide similar predictions of soil's potential for releasing dissolved P, offering flexibility in identifying leaching prone hotspots.
