Research and application of large diameter steel cylinder island construction technology in Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge project

Aimin Liu et al.

Summary: The article discusses the first-time use of large diameter deep inserted steel cylinder in the artificial island project of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, analyzing its working mechanism, design and construction key points, and introducing its research and application in foundation pit support engineering. By using arc-shaped steel plate auxiliary grids to connect and seal the cylinders, construction difficulty and material cost are greatly reduced, resulting in a cofferdam Island wall with good water stop performance and structural stability.
