Cyclophosphamide Exposure Causes Long-Term Detrimental Effect of Oocytes Developmental Competence Through Affecting the Epigenetic Modification and Maternal Factors' Transcription During Oocyte Growth

Weijie Yang et al.

Summary: CTX exposure during follicle development impairs oocyte quality leading to decreased fertility potential. This study reveals that CTX treatment affects DNA methylation, histone modifications, and maternal gene transcription in oocytes, contributing to poor quality and developmental competence of repaired oocytes. In vitro addition of lysophosphatidic acid to embryo culture media can improve embryo development following CTX exposure, offering new insights for fertility preservation interventions.
