Experimental and kinetic modeling studies of methanol synthesis from CO2 hydrogenation using In2O3 catalyst

Sreetama Ghosh et al.

Summary: This study introduces a kinetic model based on LHHW mechanism for the hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol using indium oxide catalyst, and predicts the shift in methanol yield due to the equilibrium limitation and RWGS reaction. The developed model accurately predicts the trends in the experimental data, facilitating the development of reliable reactor and process designs.

Highly Efficient CO2 Hydrogenation to Methanol over the Mesostructured Cu/AlZnO Catalyst

Shaozhong Li et al.

Summary: Experimental results showed that the weight ratio of Al2O3 and ZnO affected the morphology of the mesoporous AlZnO supports and surface properties of the mesostructured Cu/AlZnO catalysts. Meanwhile, ZnO added into catalysts increased the strength of surface basicity and the surface concentration of Zn species, which promoted the catalytic activity of CO2 hydrogenation to methanol. The well mesostructure heightened the stability of supported Cu catalyst due to the high dispersion of Cu nanoparticles.

Enhanced CO2 Hydrogenation to Methanol on the Mesostructured Cu-ZnO/Al2O3-ZrO2 Catalyst

Qing Guo et al.

Summary: Research has shown that optimizing the microstructure and surface properties of mesostructured Cu-ZnO/Al2O3-ZrO2 (CZAZ) catalysts, especially by adjusting the weight ratio of Al2O3 and ZrO2, can improve the catalytic performance of CO2 hydrogenation to methanol. The addition of ZrO2 enhances the catalyst's basic surface, while smaller Cu particles increase the interfaces of Cu with ZnO, thereby improving the selectivity to methanol.
