Metabolomics in Exercise and Sports: A Systematic Review

Kayvan Khoramipour et al.

Summary: Exercise metabolomics, which involves comprehensive measurement of small metabolites in biological samples, can be categorized into exercise nutrition metabolism, exercise metabolism, sport metabolism, clinical exercise metabolism, and metabolome comparisons. The majority of studies use untargeted metabolomics techniques, with mass spectrometry being the most commonly used platform. There is a trend towards better designed, more clinical, and mass spectrometry-based metabolomics studies with larger sample sizes and more identified metabolites.

Shaping human telomeres: from shelterin and CST complexes to telomeric chromatin organization

Ci Ji Lim et al.

Summary: The recently determined structures of telomere maintenance protein complexes shed new light on the regulation of telomere DNA replication and end-capping, and how mutations in their encoding genes may affect their functions. Dysfunctional telomere maintenance can lead to diseases, highlighting the importance of understanding telomere biology for human health.
