The geographical origin, refugia, and diversification of honey bees (Apis spp.) based on biogeography and niche modeling

Yongkun Ji

Summary: This study used phylogeny and biogeography analyses along with niche modeling to investigate the hypotheses on the center of origin, diversification, and glacial refugia of honey bees. The findings indicate that honey bees originated from tropical Asia and climate change may impact their suitable regions in the future.
