The study describes a scalable method to synthesize twisted bilayer graphene, resulting in growth over the largest lateral surface areas reported so far, which has attracted significant interest in the field.
Synthesis of two-dimensional materials such that the individual layers are aligned at specific angles has gathered huge interest recently due to their exceptional transport properties. In the October issue of Matter, Wang, Kong, and colleagues describe a scalable growth strategy for twisted bilayer graphene resulting in growth over the largest lateral surface areas reported so far.
