Gold nanoparticle based colorimetric sensing strategy for the determination of reducing sugars

Benediktas Brasiunas et al.

Summary: A colorimetric sensor based on a redox reaction between AuCl4- ions and reducing sugars was developed, with different sugars showing varied reaction rates and LOD values. The sensitivity of the sensor can be enhanced by prolonging the reaction time, and the linear range for different sugars differs, with distinct LOQ values observed.

Inkjet-printed paper-based colorimetric sensor coupled with smartphone for determination of mercury (Hg2+)

Monisha et al.

Summary: In this study, an inkjet-printed paper-based colorimetric sensor was developed for on-site determination of mercuric ion using a smartphone and color detector app. The sensor showed advantages of simplicity, rapid detection, cost-effectiveness, wide linear range, and low detection limit for determination of Hg2+ at sample sources. The results were validated against inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) measurements.
