Influence of chronological control of transformation on the microstructure and mechanical properties of complex phase steels

Hong-Bum Lee et al.

Summary: The transformation sequence significantly impacts the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of complex phase steel. The presence of carbon-enriched blocky martensite increases the strength of the alloy but decreases the impact toughness, while a uniform lath-type mixture of martensite and bainite can enhance the strength without compromising impact toughness.
