Diagnostic stability in substance-induced psychosis

Lucia Inchausti et al.

Summary: This study aimed to analyze the progression of Substance-induced psychosis (SIP) to severe mental disorder (SMD) and identify potential factors involved in this conversion. The findings showed that within 16 years, 41.6% of patients converted to SMD over an average period of 36.43 months. Therefore, interventions in SIP episodes should take into account that a significant proportion of patients may develop SMD within the first three years.
