Genome-wide transcriptome profiling uncovers differential miRNAs and lncRNAs in ovaries of Hu sheep at different developmental stages

Samina Shabbir et al.

Summary: Genome-wide sequencing of lncRNAs and mRNAs in ovaries of Hu sheep at different ages revealed key genes and regulatory pathways associated with ovarian development, follicular development, and steroid hormone biosynthesis. Identified genes were found to play vital roles in the final stages of follicles and ovary development in Hu sheep.

Effects of FecB Mutation on Estrus, Ovulation, and Endocrine Characteristics in Small Tail Han Sheep

Xiangyu Wang et al.

Summary: The Booroola fecundity gene mutation has been found to increase ovulation and litter size in Booroola Merino sheep, as well as in small-tail han (STH) sheep. The FecB gene affects estrus, ovulation, and endocrine characteristics in STH sheep, with the +B genotype showing earlier onset of estrus and higher ovulation rates. Serum hormone concentrations varied significantly among different FecB genotypes, suggesting a genetic influence on reproductive performance.

Transcriptome Analysis Reveals Differentially Expressed Genes and Long Non-coding RNAs Associated With Fecundity in Sheep Hypothalamus With Different FecB Genotypes

Si Chen et al.

Summary: The study revealed that ovulation rates and fecundities of Small-tailed Han sheep are influenced by FecB genotypes, with the hypothalamus playing a crucial role in increasing ovulation rates under FecB mutation. Expression profiling of hypothalamus tissue identified key genes and non-coding RNAs involved in reproductive pathways in response to FecB mutation.

Insight into Liver lncRNA and mRNA Profiling at Four Developmental Stages in Ningxiang Pig

Yan Gong et al.

Summary: The study investigated the expression profiles and functional networks of mRNAs and lncRNAs in the liver of Ningxiang piglets at different developmental stages. DEmRNAs were upregulated at 30 days, while most DElncRNAs were downregulated at 210 days. The complex interaction between mRNAs and lncRNAs was identified, suggesting lncRNAs may play a critical regulatory role in mRNA expression. Genes in specific modules showed similar expression patterns, indicating functional and regulatory relationships between mRNAs and lncRNAs.
