Brain microvasculature endothelial cell orientation on micropatterned hydrogels is affected by glucose level variations

Summary: This study demonstrates that brain microvascular endothelial cells align and elongate under physical constraints generated via adhesion control on hydrogel surfaces, and that glucose levels in the cell medium also affect cell alignment. These findings may contribute to further research on the impact of altered glucose levels in cardiovascular disease.
