Improving EDLC Device Performance Constructed from Plasticized Magnesium Ion Conducting Chitosan Based Polymer Electrolytes via Metal Complex Dispersion

Summary: This study prepared plasticized chitosan composite with magnesium acetate and nickel metal complexes via solution casting, and investigated its electrical, optical, and electrochemical properties. The addition of Ni metal complexes enhanced the absorbance and amorphous nature of the samples. The EDLC device showed improved charge-discharge cycles and stable performance up to 1000 cycles, with enhanced specific capacitance, coulombic efficiency, energy and power densities.

Summary: A novel Na+ superionic conducting polymer gel cocktail electrolyte membranes have been prepared, offering good ionic conductivity and sodium-ion transport properties at ambient temperature. The ion-dynamics and interactions with other components have been investigated, showing that the electrolyte system can maintain a gel phase at high temperatures according to DSC studies. Linear sweep voltammetry reveals a working voltage range of 3.46 V for this electrolyte system.

Development of bio-degradable based polymer electrolytes for EDLC application

Summary: Biodegradable blended solid polymer electrolyte (BSPE) films were prepared using solution casting technique with different weight ratios of PVA:PS:(CH3COO)2Mg. The physical and chemical properties of the films were characterized by various techniques, showing varying conductivity and energy band gap. The highest specific capacitance and energy density were observed for the BSPE film with a 35:35:30 wt% ratio, indicating its potential for energy storage applications.

Impedance, circuit simulation, transport properties and energy storage behavior of plasticized lithium ion conducting chitosan based polymer electrolytes

Summary: In this study, energy storage devices utilizing plasticized chitosan biopolymer electrolytes were investigated. The CS-LiClO4 polymer electrolyte system with varying glycerol concentrations exhibited high ionic conductivity, with the CS-LiClO4 doped with 30 wt% glycerol showing the highest conductivity. The ion transport parameters were studied using impedance spectroscopy and deconvoluted FTIR spectra, revealing a strong correlation between ion mobility and diffusion coefficient. Additionally, the EDLC device fabricated in this study demonstrated good energy density and power density.

Design of potassium ion conducting PVA based polymer electrolyte with improved ion transport properties for EDLC device application

Summary: This study presents a report on the preparation of plasticized polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) based polymer electrolytes using solution cast technique and their characterization using various electrochemical techniques. The EIS, LSV, and TNM techniques were utilized to determine conductivity, decomposition voltage, and ion transference number, while CV and charge-discharging measurements assessed the charge storage process and device performance. The influence of plasticization on electrochemical properties was investigated, with TNM measurements revealing high ionic transference numbers for glycerol content in the polymer electrolytes.
