Electrical transport in lead-free Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 ceramics

J. Suchanicz et al.

Summary: Lead-free Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 (NBT) ceramics were prepared via a conventional oxide-mixed sintering route, and their electrical transport properties were investigated. The mechanism of depolarization and electrical conductivity phenomena for the investigated samples were found to be typical, with conduction mechanisms involving the hopping of charge carriers at low temperatures, small polarons at intermediate temperatures, and oxygen vacancies at high temperatures.

Guangzhi Dong et al.

Summary: The study fabricated a novel solid solution ceramic with relaxor ferroelectric features using high temperature solid-state reaction method. The ergodic composition showed large repeatable electrostrain value and high piezoelectric stain coefficient, while the non-ergodic compositions exhibited unrepeatable large strain response. The research aims to guide the design of lead free relaxor ferroelectric materials with desired electrostrain properties.

Progress and perspectives in dielectric energy storage ceramics

Dongxu Li et al.

Summary: Dielectric ceramic capacitors are considered promising candidates for solid-state pulse power systems due to their high power density, fast charge-discharge capability, excellent fatigue endurance, and good high temperature stability. This review investigates the energy storage performances of various dielectric materials through chemical modification, macro/microstructural design, and electrical property optimization. Research progress on ceramic bulks and films for both Pb-based and Pb-free systems is summarized, providing perspectives on future development of energy storage ceramics for pulse power capacitors.
