A DCM High-Frequency High-Step-Up SEPIC-Based Converter With Extended ZVS Range

Shanshan Gao et al.

Summary: In this article, a discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) high-frequency high-step-up single-ended primary inductor converter (SEPIC)-based converter with extended zero voltage switching (ZVS) range is proposed. By incorporating additional components, the converter achieves high efficiency and ZVS operation. A hybrid control method is proposed to extend the ZVS range effectively, and GaN switches and planar magnetic components are used for optimization. Experimental results demonstrate good agreement with theoretical analysis.

A Wide Conversion Ratio Bidirectional Modified SEPIC Converter With Nondissipative Current Snubber

Marcos Paulo Hirth et al.

Summary: A new wide conversion ratio bidirectional dc-dc converter based on the modified Single-ended primary-inductor converter (SEPIC) converter is proposed, featuring a nondissipative current snubber for zero current switching and reduced switching losses with high efficiency. The converter offers intrinsic extended step-up and step-down voltage conversion ratios and reduced voltage stress in all semiconductors. Experimental results show the converter's performance with a 500-W prototype operating at V-1 = 48 V and V-2 = 300 V with efficiency higher than 95% in both operation modes.
